Lilies

and snow

Winter

The world

with fragile things

New light

Looking in

Outside looking in

Beauty begins 

the moment you 

decide to be yourself

Let the world 

spin outside our door 

Some kind 

of harmony

The signal changed

Safe inside

You’re the only one 

I want to see see

 the sun still 

comes up 

and the world 

still spins

it’s just the luck 

of the draw, I guess

We plant seeds

in the ground, 

you just want 

to move around, 

You keep ranting,

Bur I know

really doing 

the planting

 Pennies 

in a jar

what are 

We really

saving for?

Smiles on 

our face

is but 

our ship 

Turned around

Ain’t coming back

it swells 

in the sound

under the ground

this star 

falls on my skin

trying to get in

it's all about 

the time we spend 

could it  be that the lines

on my face

outweigh my smile?

I got my foot

on the ladder

and then climbing 

up to the moon

I hold your hand

and watch 

as the sky 

closes in

the edges

of the tide 

Play mischievously  

Through a branch

Of the tree

See through

This winter disguise

Freefalling

Lost in

The focus

Reality blurs

maybe I felt

it something to

keep me here

but it's all narrow

The edge

Of a curl

under those

Narrows and cobblestone

streets staring into

Overwhelming space

~Light~

 

There are 

moments 

in life 

when everything

slows down

where good things 

can happen 

in the space

of a single breath

when your heart

reaches out 

across the expanse

of space and time 

Sighs and signs

Signs

hearts beating

 in time with yours

The chance to fail

to do something 

different 

you’ll get your wings

one of these days

I knew I’ve seen 

the landscape

of my heart

The chance 

To do something

Real

the wicked wind 

whispers and moans

Hope

doesn't keep 

a airplane 

in the sky 

 secrets and desires 

I have a few of my own 

I can feel it 

but it’s nowhere 

in sight 

One of these nights

Somewhere between

Between dark

And light

all I'm saying 

is if you don't

hold on to 

what makes

you you

Then you can

lose yourself

and you may

not find it again 

maybe I'm turning

over a new leaf 

The thing is

when you have 

a memory you want 

to  erase

The worst part

about remembering

those moments 

is that you can't tell

between what

really happened 

and what it felt like

that night

I found 

your discarded and forgotten

wings

golden and green

the hopeful arch

of what was

now crumpled

and drunken

glitter

that now glitters

for no one

a tear

in the netting

faded

fake jewels

tarnished and faded

thrown

to the sidewalk

with hushed whispers

hidden 

by purple shadows

a crumpled mosaic

in the brilliant cold

you can almost hear

the promise

of musical laughter

fading 

and weaving

as the night darkens

Apples and Orchids

Take my open hand

Stained only slightly

With dirt

Apples and orchids

With their beckoning white blossoms

You said we could plant

Beside each other

The roots

Winding around each other

In a spiraling mandala

Of snake skin 

Faded velvet

Rough to the touch

Wild and shivering

A kiss on the forehead

The sweetest sigh

Appreciating the bumpy road

That leads back 

To where the light
