~Becoming~

 one of the

hardest lessons is to

be patient

when becoming

something you've never been

circles of mist

linger around us

the trembling afterglow

it's so so cold

all I want now

is a cup of coffee

to melt myself

fate does have a way

of sticking it's foot out

and tripping you up

raspberries in maple syrup

warm up

my memories

solid and sure

a shawl

that I can

wrap around

my shoulders

~Sarah Mahina Calvello

~Unfolding~

 taking a few detours

a few detours

in this mystery road

of life

but never

really getting lost

always finding

my way back

this morning,

I sang with a crow

outside my window

Bob Dylan

Boots of Spanish Leather

under the wildflower sky

as long as I'm alive,

I'll know you

there's a comfort

in that

you save me

cookies for my coffee

most of the time

so I guess

you're forgiven

when the days

are unfolding

not afraid

of the busy confusion

detected

~Sarah Mahina Calvello

~Shiny~

 time passes

like water

playing over rocks

wayward trees

in a lonely garden

feeling pulled

in one direction

but still resisting

no compromise

can't give into

the shiny people

shashaying by

flowers sleep

in forgotten warmth

leaved start to fall

tangled and weary

spilling into

their own sillhoettes

the deepest blue

of shadows

~Routine~

 Delicate icy,

Dangling teardrops

Of trees

Falling forward

Only to unbend

Up again

Sparkling like

Sweetly cut glass

Hope crystalizes

Among the

Quiet blue silhouettes

Hazy cold

Blending into nothing

But vapor

Kona coffee

With chunky sweaters

Whip cream

The little things

To make a good morning

It’s never too late

To do the right thing

I like that

After all,

We’re all trying

To fight through

The monotony

Of routine

Flowers sleep

In forgotten warmth

Leaves starts to fall
