Through the cracks
looking at lightening
where the light bends
birds lingering
in the lightest blue sky
stark against
the dark trees
early morning air
smells like
freshly bottled water
crisp dream
seems like
a magic time
between time
and I am suspended
the quiet corners
where hope
hides

Pages of books
Make way
For better days
Though torn and frayed
I wonder
If we’re
Going anywhere
This life
Isn’t tangible
It really isn’t
Here’s to
The moment
Drink it in
Like fine wine
The moment
When I built
A new garden
As the shadows grew long
To mark
The passing time
Stones in the path
Like secrets
Wind around
Mismatched grasses
Contained
Yet wild
The two purples
Of the Japanese iris
Petals like beautiful,
Crumbled paper
An open shell statue
That water passes through
Misbehaving in
The mid morning sun
I don’t sleep well lately
Days and nights
Blend together
In a kaleidoscope fog
I would be doing better
If there was a break in between
There’s are no highs
Without lows
Isn’t that
A gas?
