Willows sway
Long and lingering
Leaving me
To contemplate
their touch
Tickling breath
Of a new wind
Under an
Unbridled moon
Where fate
Can fly free
Unheard sighs
Silhouettes of
Mosaic light
Fractured but whole
Yearning
Free
But not
Knowing what
To wish for
Prairie skies
Lay open,
Lay waiting
Along with
Pearls of
Dogwood blossoms
Easy and careless
Widening silence
That seems
To be kept at bay
A dream
Emerging
Sarah Mahina Calvello
The daffodils
Are sprouting out
In this honey afternoon
Stark mosaics
A warm season breeze
Suspended
A quiet place
To sit
To ignore
The chaos
A place
With no sound
Achingly beautiful
A daffodils lament
Scones and honey
Softly sweet
Lazy birds
On a syrupy breeze
Clouds of
Clotted cream
Fly over me
This sanctuary
Is unexpected
Time to
Sit a spell
Never forgetting
Past missteps
The ones
That lead me here
Ghosts linger
In these cobblestones
Hope goes meandering
But always comes home
Back to comfort
