It was
A thick kind of
Velvet night
A solitary night
Complicated in its simplicity
The sky so clear
Comfortably cool
Suspended and airy
The moon
A blue moon tonight
The first I’ve seen
In my life
Sweet and haunting
Glowing from the inside out
Horizontal light shinning through
Nestled in marbled clouds
Tired and tremulous
Day’s sashay by
Without any regard
We all wear scars
Camouflaged masks
Searching for something
To make you feel beautiful
The city sleeps
Lazy twinkling lights
Hang in there
Another beautiful moon
Always comes around
again
